The combination of shou characters and lotus scrolls also appears on earlier Qing cloisonné. Compare a Kangxi mark-and-period box and cover in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, illustrated in Enamel Ware in the Ming and Ch’ing Dynasties, Taipei, 1999, p. 96, no. 25. Although of a different form, the box provides a comparison for the present censer’s decoration.
